Sustainable Development With American Indian Communities
about sdwaic

sdwaic is meant to introduce concepts of sustainable development and democratic education through the context of service-learning with American Indian community partners.

this site helps document and facilitate HMN 001D: Sustainable Development with American Indian Communities, a DemTex course designed to fullfill the criteria for academic service-learning established by The University of Texas at Austin (UT).

the site is public in order to share the learning and resources of this course with the greater UT community (broadly defined).

ultimately, sdwaic hopes to inspire other students (at UT and elsewhere) to develop and facilitate service-learning courses on topics of their choice.

in addition, sdwaic hopes to prepare students, educators, and others to critique and improve university-level experiential learning programs and requirements - and build the community-university partnerships and academic culture that supports sustainable and democratic development.
